Proposed FTC Buyer's Guide Changes Not Pro-Consumer

The FTC's proposed Buyer's Guide rule is not pro-consumer.

A move by the Federal Trade Commission to modify its buyers' guide for used cars is being panned by consumer groups, who say the current guide is ineffective and proposed changes are even worse.

The Auto Fraud Legal Center brought a number of suits against Classic Chariots on behalf of servicemembers who were taken advantage of. In addition to favorably resolving the cases, The Auto Fraud Legal Center alerted the Marine Corps directly. Thanks in part to the AFLC's efforts, MCCS chose not to renew Classic Chariot's commercial sponsorship. THis had the effect of kicking Classic Chariots off the base.

"A California dealership cannot force a customer to arbitrate his individual and class-action allegations of illegal fee collection and other claims, a state appellate panel has ruled.

Rental Car Companies Agree to Stop Renting Cars that Have Been Recalled

The auto rental industry has agreed to stop renting or selling vehicles that are under safety recall before they're fixed.

The agreement ended months of dispute between Boxer and three big auto rental companies: Avis Budget, Dollar Thrifty and Enterprise Holdings, which owns the Enterprise, Alamo and National brands.

Sign Petition Asking Enterprise Rent-A-Car to Cease Renting Vehicle Under Safety Recalls

The Consumers for Automobile Reliability and Safety “CARS” and other advocacy groups in the rental car safety battle have linked up with Change.org, which is the largest online platform for social change in the US.  There are asking concerned citizens to sign a petition that asks Enterprise Rent -A-Car to cease its practice of renting vehicles that are under a safety recall to hapless, unsuspecting rental car customers — in one particularly horrific case, two sisters, ages 24 and 20, were killed after they were led to believe they were getting an “upgrade.”
